(owner and operator of ‘Perhaps Piano’) is an American solo pianist. An award winning virtuoso, recording artist, composer and an accomplished piano, composition and theory instructor.
Born and raised in Portland Oregon, her path began at a very young age. Recognized as a prodigy, McMillan studied under well-known Marylhurst University piano teacher Sister Emerentia Berndorfner. She attended the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana where she studied with nationally known Beethoven expert, teacher and performer Dr. Kenneth Drake. McMillan then graduated with professional degrees in performance, composition, and pedagogy. McMillan offers live online lessons globally as well as in studio private or group lessons. She teaches all genres, adults and children ages 4+ beginners to extremely advanced. Currently, 6 local teachers (who have their own piano studios) are enrolled taking lessons from McMillan. To date, 23 of her students have received generous scholarships to the best music schools and conservatories in the world.
